Seat Covers

Black Ducks, I have a set in the front. But hey get a set of tailored or throw over sheepskins for normal running and have the black duck underneath. I am pretty sure BD now make them for the Puma. Michelles Sacs look ok though a little exy. There is also Sandgroper seat covers in Esperance WA, they do not have them listed for LR though.
Even with the black ducks remember to order with headrests as they do not automatically come with them in all cases.
I have Takla on the rear which I think may have gone out of business and they have put up with the kids stuff and dogs for 6 years. Cleaned both sets today (black duck about 2 years old) and the Taklas come up like new, the ducks are showing some wear on the seat base cover. The Taklas are not canvas but a waterproof nylon or something and a lot lighter but very water proof and spill proof. My SIL has a set in her 4wd for about 7 years and they are still like new as well.
Prestige Sheepskins in the west make tailor made sheepies, not sure if they have LR off the rack, but should be able to make some, but tailored sheepies are not cheap, we have just been quoted $1200 for the Statesman front and rear.

I had a set of sheep skin covers made for my D2, $350 for the front seat pair, includes head rest bit. Very comfy.

The only down side is that the bulk/thickness was the equivelant of a couple of notches on the seat adjustment, not good if you are at full adjustment already.

and just to throw another canvas seat cover manufacturer into the mix....

Candy Canvas (South Australia ?) used to make Defender seat covers too, and IIRC were cheaper than the big name brands.

A (now ex) Landy member on another forum used to swear by their stuff.

get my sheep skin from caboolture wholesale seat covers and i got throw overs from him for the wet and dirty moments.

Picked up my sheepskin seat covers from them today. Lovely job, and glad I went them over canvas. They're verrrrrry bloody comfortable. I forgot to ask about throw-overs, but will do when I pick up the amended head rests on Wednesday.

They also did some covers for the baby seats, as I realised the other day how bloody hard they are! Poor kids never whinged, but buggered if I would be happy sitting on hard plastic with a bit of neoprone over it!

All up, a great job that I'm very pleased with.

How much were the front seat covers Ranga?
Were they full sheepskin, or are the backs acrylic?

They do now after I gave them my passenger seat for a week. 3 Piece cover with a double panel on the drivers side where you slide out. The fit is very good, much better than to covers I had on my Discovery.

All up for full front covers (all sheepskin, no acrylic) and 2 baby seats were $630.

Not cheap, but according to the manufacturer will last as long as canvas, and waaaay more comfortable.

If you want cheap and like to make things yourself, it doesn't take much to sew up a basic cover for something like that out of some canvas.
Any reasonable domestic sewing machine will happily sew a couple of layers of canvas as long as you dont push it too hard/fast. They struggle a bit with more than 2 layers so you have to watch it at corners etc.
Just use some slightly heavier polyester thread than would be used for normal clothes fabrics.
Just lay out the canvas on the seat, trim to size/shape a bit and pin it together. A normal stapler can be used to hold the pieces together if the boss wont let you borrow her pins :p

I wouldn't do it for seat covers for humans as for comfort we like to have things that fit nicely and stretch in the all the right places etc, but the dogs aren't going to worry about it.
