    130 rear seat config

I'm thinking for the upcoming trip I won't need the rear seat area between the 2 baby seats. Is it possible to remove the right side 2/3 seat and swap with another left side 1/3 seat? Then I could put something more usable in between, like a fridge.

if you do that, you may have issues with vehicle compliance... add to which, I think the seat "hinge" is in a different spot and would then require a modification and associated engineering cert (maybe, I am not sure...)
how old are your younguns? is it possible for them to sit side by side on the 2 seater bit and put the fridge where the one seater is?

Yeh, I thought of that as the easy option, but would rather they be apart and have a window each. Also, would make access to the fridge when on the move easier.

Not essential to do this, but something I was thinking about this morning.

if that's the case, and you are thinking of modding anyway, why not go to a wreckers and get 2 bucket seats either out of another Deefer or even a small car? would be a lot more comfy in the future too, and for other adults to sit in there...

If you leave the seat belt but remove the seat it would be legal in NSW, not sure about fitting a different cars bucket seat, you may get away with fitting the bucket seats out of a wrecked 07 on defender but not 100% sure.

A friend of our has already been down that path...

You will need a engineers certificate and vehicle mod plate to do it.

I was going to do the same thing before number 3 came along. Now I have to look at getting breathing tubes installed into the rear draws so I can fit all the younguns in.
