    When was the first black model released?

    Hi guys, new to Defenders but I love these things now!

    Two questions what year did they start releasing defenders in black? And I want to pick up a couple does anyone have any suggestions for places to look out for 2nd hand ones for sale besides the usual drive.com.au carsales.com.au etc.

    I think 1999 was when java black came out, black may have been a special order before then UK only, i may be wrong but was the first black one here the Puma range of Station wagons, followed by the SVX?

    I have a friend with a 2003 90, in Java Black. I think it was around here that they introduced black into the model range.

    Black was available when Land Rover started selling the D90’s in 2003. Black became available for the 110 a year or so later.
