I share your pain in choosing between two defenders. I have a 90 PUMA and 300 tdi and now need a new more baby friendly car. 90 is only new (a pre-baby decision) and 300tdi we are attached to because we've had it since new.

Sadly the reality is that the 90 is just not as versatile as the 110 and it does ride like ****.

I think the smart option for you would be to keep the SVX and ditch the 90.

However, even though it is entirely impractical I think I will keep the 90 cause its great fun and then get a D3 for the family

EDIT- Just checked on paddocks and they seem to list different calipers (i.e. different part numbers) for all MYs of 90 and 110/130 (both front and rear).
They are the same. Ive just checked too: look at the part numbers:

    90

    STC1266G Front brake caliper (New) - 90 - RH - vented - from LA930456 - AP

    110

    STC1266G Front brake caliper (new) - 110/130 - RH - vented - from LA930456 - AP

I'm not sure when LA was, but since the TD5 they are the same.

Towing a big boat you'll want the wheel base for stability....

    Keep the 110

Personally I love the 90, I had a SIII 88 and always wanted a td5 90 when they where released but with 4 kids my 110 is excellent.
Since your retired and only need to cart enough for 2 a 90 would be ideal 90% of the time with you just needing to prep/ take care when towing the larger boat.

I'll swap you my Td5 Disco for your SVX....Plus you'll have to even up the deal with some cash. Haha....Deams are free

Id keep the SVX, reckon they will hold their value more than a 90.

Even my missus reckons the SVX is sex on wheels!!

Hm difficult decision, maybe you should bring the SVX north with you and drop into me in Newman and I will evaluate its worthiness over the next 12 months for you and wont even charge you.
Seriously find someone with a similar sized boat and tow it with both vehicles. See which one handles better and then make your decision.
I would probably keep the SVX myself.

I just have this thing about the TD5, it's like the old 300 I used to have, you always know it going to take you to that place very few vehicles will. I just dont feel like that in the Puma.

yeah difference is though once the SVX is gone its gone.....I think your silly to sell a limited addition I would be making the decision with my wallet not my head.
