Heavy duty steering Arms and bash plates

    Happy Easter All,
have a couple of questions to those that may have done this upgrade if you don't mind.
We have just come back after a week of camping with a now straightened but previously extremely bent steering arm. (The one that adjusts toe in and toe out?). Was "gunna" put a piece of heavy wall pipe on it ages ago but never got round to it and Murphy's law came into play of course.
Can anyone recommend a Heavy duty replacement and where they got them from?
Also do you think that a bash plate would be a worthwhile addition? If so, again a source for a HD one one be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies and comments
    cheers
    Dave

I run britt part (i think thats the brand) HD drag link and track rod (thats the one you bent) which can you brought from lots of online shops like paddocks.

PM960 Heavy Duty Steering Rods for all Defender inc Ball Joints

For steering guards talk to philco on the forum. This is what I run and do not think you will find a better guard

They are actually called steering rods Dave, not steering arms, and the one you bent is called a trackrod. Not sure if Hytuff Engineering (formerly Maxidrive) do them still. Don't know what type of steel it was, but I found a length of incredibly tough, springy 9/16'' diameter steel bar at a scrap yard years ago that I slipped inside my standard track rod. It stood up to an enormous amount of awfulness over rocks and tree stumps without fail.
    Wagoo.

Got my steering guard for my 90 from Paddocks (UK) online. Even with postage it was delivered for about $160 ish from memory.

I have the Brit part ones in my 130 and they Look and feel VERY heavy duty in comparison to the OME ones.....they look flimsy and in my view compare to glorified curtain rods.

Does Old Man Emu (OME) make steering rods? Or do you mean OEM as in Original Equipment Manufacturer?
