    My mistake.

    That's crazy. I've got a listing for the whole grille assembly for $2,500+ or the star as you mentioned.

    I bid on a fintail star on ebay a month or so ago. It was in very good condition. It went for about fifteen dollars.

    The star in a 280SL (or any SL for that matter) is a different kettle of fish. Much more expensive car. Probably $40,000 plus whereas the Mercedes in this thread is probably worth $2,000 to $4,000.

    Bit sad for an owner because Mercs are undervalued and can be very nice cars. Great for me because I bought a couple of old beauties cheaper than the Landrovers.

    Hi,
    Coyote had Road Runner in the Merc star fore sight along a windy road in Utah some where in my Saturday Matinee cartoon child hood.
