Rear Axle Top Ball Joint Replacement

I have been told that I need to replace mine on a 96 110.
Is it simply a case of buying one off ebay and bolting it in place or am I going to need to be pushing bushes our and in etc meaning it is a mechanic thing?

    Please advise

You can do it yourself, but be prepared to do lots of whopping with a big hammer to get it out. There should be more detailed info on how to do it on this site and on the net, but it is pretty straight forward to do.

You can do it yourself ... but will probably need a little help getting the old joint out of the cast housing, and pressing the new one in. I'd pull it apart and take the old and new to someone who has a press to use on the removal and refit. When removing, you may need to cut the retaining bolt hole flanges off the old ball joint, to allow the press somewhere to hold the casting against. Hope all this makes sense.
