The switch is on top of the gear box, its actuated when the lever is physically placed in reverse.
I pulled the reversing light apart this morning, and found the globe to be O.K. Is there a switch that activates when reverse is selected? If so, where is it? What should I be looking for?
Thanks,
Ken

Thanks for that, is it where I can feel or get at it without dropping the gear box?

2005 110 has an R380, switch is Passenger side of trans 2/3rds of the way down to the side. difficult to reach in a Defender. Could just be wiring connector, sits on top of the transfer case as the wiring goes back and over the top of the case.
Are fuses OK? AFAIR the alternator fuse is also the reverse lamp fuse, does the alternator charge lamp come on when you switch on the ignition?
