New drag link or just ball joints?

I have taken off the drag link due to both drag link ends joints needing replacing, boots split and excessive play. New steering damper is on the cards too.

Is there much benefit in upgrading to a HD drag link and new end joints or just stick with old bar and new ball joints?

The 130 has 300,000k's on it so I know it will need money spent on it, much of which is being spent this week it would seem. I plan to keep it for a long time and set it up as my tourer, so happy to spend the money to get it up to scratch.

    Cheers

If you mean the drag link from the steering box to the LH swivel, I would not bother unless it is bent, or you can't get the ends out. I bent the track rod on mine (replaced with a HD) hitting a bump, but the drag link was unaffected, so I don't think it is likely to bend unless you hit something with it.

Track rod off as well and the rear A-frame joint to come. Looks like the previous owner has replaced the passenger side tie rod ends not long ago with a new greasable unit but the drivers side needs replacing. They are a bugger to get off. Have them soaking now and see if that works.

Just as a comparison for std track rods/drag links, on a D2, the cost of the parts is greater than buying the whole assy. By a lot.
