    Just purchased 2005 130. ????

hello everyone, first time user here

so ive just brought a 2005 defender 130 from tassie, so far its been pretty good but ive just go a few questions? my instruments lights aren't working? the trip meter is fine. i've checked fuses and globes. is this something simple? or a job for a auto electrician?

also the front end is sagging quite a bit. i would like to get it sitting level without the back end looking so much higher but have read the back springs and shocks are not worth replacing any advice? would new front springs get it sitting level or are they just designed to sit like that?

i'm also wanting to add some extra power. chip, exhaust, bigger intercooler, air intake/snorkel. is there a good order to do these? if i got a tombie chip to start with would i then have to get a dyno to correct for the bigger intercooler ect?

    any advice would be great

    thanks in advance

    ben

    the engine must breath properly...

to get the fresh air in first you must get the bad air out... do the exhaust first
then fit the better intercooler and while you're doing that get rid of the EGR. once you have that then go the chip. Putting the chip in first and then doing the others may mean you need to revisit the chipping to take advantage of the better breathing.

it could be a dropped connector on the lights or the earth for the dash lights let go.

Benz, no i haven't got either one but i've heard they've got a tendency to sag even when stock standard. i'm just not sure if i get standard springs if it will still be on such an angle? I'll do my best to get a photo up now.

Dave, i'll check the earthing out and get started with the exhaust to get a bit more flow, i was thinking that would be a good starting point. what size do people suggest? is 3inch to big? straight through or 1 muffer?

    thanks again guys

    Welcome

    Hi Ben

I felt the island move a little when you drove the 130 onto the ferry, well done for finding something that you wanted.

Cheap way to fix the exhaust, is to replace the first muffler with a straight pipe, not sure if it is worth the extra noise though.

Welcome to this forum and enjoy the fun.

    Cheers Arthur

    Nice.

Not sure if they're still in the Defenders but my SIII has a switch that turns off the dash lights. Sort of an all or nothing dimmer.
Might be as simple as that.
