be interesting to find out how much they go for, they may set the pace for all the other defenders being retired.
wouldn't mind a couple myself for a project ....pity wallet is empty

Not sure it will, as these are TD5, 5 speeds - so mechanically completely different to the real perenties (and much newer).

Plus the perenties will apparently now be sold off in bulk/tender.

According to some "experts" all coil sprung Land Rovers (non-RRc/Disco) are Defenders. This is particularly true of the parts suppliers like LR Series. County was a trim level, not unlike HiLine in the RRc. In the UK, you could even get Stage 1 SIII with the "County" trim level.

The TD5s at this auction would be ideal for "old guys" who want to travel to things like Corowa Swim-In in a bit of comfort and still feel like they are involved. A lot of them are having trouble driving their old Blitz and GPW etc all the way down. A TD5 would also make a great tow vehicle for their GPW/A

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    SSSHHHH!
    Don't tell everybody about them.

    I'm bidding on them.

Oh, and are they Td5's? They have Tdi stickers on the back.

I can't see any Tdi stickers?

They have the TD5 protruding grille, and one is listed as a 2000 model.

I can not see any Tdi stickers either but iam not convinced that the one that says its a 2000 model is.

As the grill does not protude, also the dash is different the vent handles are tdi and also no a/c like the others and center controls is different, also the rear reverse light is the old style tdi unlike the others that have the round td5 style.

To me this looks like a Tdi model where as the other appear to be td5 but iam no expert by any means.

However it has an updated rear door (round glass corners) - which appeared mid TD5 AFAIK?

Pics could have been mixed up.
Parts could have been replaced during service with earlier or later parts.

I thought VINs and other details needed to be shown when advertising vehicles for sale (by law)?
