    Close. The socket isnt in the crossmember, its up the right hand chassis rail a bit.

    My trailer socket is above cross member just behind the flap covering tail light fittings.

    Same here. I accessed it from under the vehicle. Reaching last the crossmember up to behind the stop/tail/turn lamps. A good torch helps... (And of course since I was removing the wiring already installed I just had to follow the wires to find where to disconnect the tail )
