It seems that the line between who actually makes engines is getting very vague.

I was speaking to a Wrangler owner with the 2.8 diesel this morning and he buys his filters and engine accessories from Fiat! Apparently this particular engine is only available in Australia and South Africa and there is no Jeep branded products available from the US (where he buys the Fiat gear from!)

A woman I work with has a Merc powered Jeep but a bloke who just switched from Patrols has a Fiat powered one. Pat

Makes sense seeing as Fiat have a majority shareholding in Chrysler these days.
Jeep was in the same boat as Land Rover, using engines from a previous tie up.

I wonder if the new one will still leak at numerous points and have roof gutters that leak into the front when you open the door in the rain. I watched a TDV6 fly past me today and thought it'd be nice in my 110.

Cool, I'll buy another Classic Defender when my lease ends at the end of 2015.
