County Parts Swap From Range Rover Classic

    Hi All,

I was just pondering what parts I could easily swap out of my range rover in to a V8 county wagon.

My range rover has the 3.9 V8, 24 spline diffs, R380 gearbox with (i think) LT230 transfer.

Would it be a straight forward swap Re. engine/gearbox mounts or is it a monster job not worth the effort?

    Cheers
    Craig

Not to many issues with most of the parts. There is a problem with the gear change mechanism between rangie and defender/county 110. You will need to get some parts to convert the direct gear change to a remote system required for the Def/County.

The County back diff is different, and is also the strongest of the genuie landie stuff. The county front diff is 10 spline, as far as I know the axles fit I know the diff will as I have a true trac out of a disco in mine. The county cv's as the back diff were the strongest. I have heard of the R380 in county's I have the LT85 that it came from the factory with. Strongest 5 speed out of the landie boxes I have Leyland V8 in Mine but have the EFI system on it out of a disco. Wiring harness is separate from the main harness. Engine bolts straight up, my father has the 4.6 in his county. Need a HP fuel pump. All fiddly stuff but is worth it. Happy to answer any other questions on the changes.
