Question UHF Placement for a Puma

I've done the search thing, but cant find what I want.

I have a TX3400 UHF, so it has a main body, + a small secondary unit to which the mic is attatched, and am wondering where people might have placed theirs in a Puma.

Any pics and info you have on instalation would be very handy thanks,, info like wheres the best spot to get power, best place to go through the firewall for leads etc,,

    Cheers, Chops

I'd already checked out this thread, but its not giving me the info I want. Their single units, where as mines a double unit. Also, there seems to be a speaker jack in the rear of the unit, does anyone know if thats right?

    Cheers Chops.

Not sure if this helps you or not, but I recently had the same problem.. there just isn't any available space to mount a UHF radio in the defenders.. a roof console wouldn't suit me - besides the fact it costs and arm and a leg.. my hubby ended up mounting it on top of the dash.. we covered a piece of wood with leather to match the interior, attached that to the dash and mounted the radio on that.. if you want pictures let me know..

Dont want to be a nuicense,, but yes please for the pic,,

At this point, I'm figuring to put the small unit with the mic attatched right under the clock, with the main unit under the dash above the panic handle,, my only problem with this is I think it will be hard to hear the speaker properly,,

    Cheers Chops

I didn't have the option to put mine under the clock as there was no room - even for a small unit.. where we put it may not suit everyone and may not be ideal but it works well for me..

This was the best we could do... sorry the pics aren't great but it might give you some ideas were you can put it and not block the speaker..

Photos of where I have installed the UHF in my Puma.

(As you can see by the dirt & dog hair, I find the Puma perfect for my needs.)

Similar to others already posted here; head unit on cubby box, mic on dash and main unit under passenger dash.
    Hope this helps.
