Might give you an idea on where to concentrate...

						 TD5 Misfiring Drama Part II
 TD5 Misfiring Drama Part II
		G;day All.
Well I received the new Cannon harness plug from England delivered in 10 days for $127.00 incl postage. Plugged it in to the newly fitted injector harness, hit the starter and bingo!. No more misfing. Took the 130 Defender Big Cab down the road and after about 8 Km. it started missing again.
These are the things I have done.
Fitted new injector harness.
Fitted new mating Cannon socket plug to main harness.
Cleaned ECU red plug and socket 3 times.
Removed heat shield, disconnected actuating rod and checked waste gate free.
Turn it off and restart and sometimes It runs smooth. Take it for a run and misfires. Even misfires at idle. I dont think it is the fuel pump because sometimes it will run smoothly.
Any more ideas???
cheers

Now THAT is a good question, since I sold my TD5 i've fallen behind in that area, I bought mine from rovacraft in WA I think.
Perhaps someone else on the forum will be able to let you visit them, and read your codes for you....I would ask in the "diagnostics" area of the forum...
In my experience with my car, I founs a lot of oil sitting in the sockets on the actual injectors, si I cleaned thm nicely with metho....
Cheers,
Fraser
I wouldn't discount an actual injector fault, either with the firing coil (Electrical) or a mechanical failure. What you have done has been correct, you seem to have eliminated all causes of misfiring bar one, which is the best way to do it.
Ebay sometimes has individual or complete sets of TD5 injectors for good $$. You will need to see if yours are EU3 (2001/2 onwards Green top) or EU2,( 1999 to mid 2001 Black top).
You will need a nanocom or similar to detect which one it is and to program the trim code into the ECU, new orings and copper sealing washers.

I was in Darwin last week with the Nano for a mates D2.
Thoroughly check the looms for chafing and earth point cleanliness and security.
I'll be back in January with the Nano. Give a yell if not sorted.
cheers

I bought a new one about a week ago from Cyprus and its already waiting for me in northern NSW. $458 delivered in under a week (incl. AULRO Discount). Now I just have to get home to play with it!
Get them new from https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/...OM%20EVOLUTION
You can find them in the markets on occasions but tend to go like hotcakes
