    County Carpet Fixings

Someone has kindly given me some really good condition carpets for the County. It didn't have any in it when I bought it but am refitting them for comfort factor for the family.
The front mats have eyes for fixing and I was also thinking of fitting velcro tabs for removal if they get wet.
Is it possible to buy the fixing points for the carpet eyes and what do they look like?

    Hi Mate,

I just used 2inch velcro - but that was for marine carpet, not the original moulded type.

Also - have a look at putting in some bitumen matting (like Dynamat or similar) as I found this makes a huge difference to sound and heat. Its not cheap, but if you are going to do it, now is the time.

    Thanks Flagg

I was thinkng of going the velcro road also. May just stick on and give a few stitches to hold it in place.

I am also fitting a product my mate supplies , called Diamond Quiet , direct to the metal work.

I have done some pre fitting noise measurements across all spectrums ( 63 Hz through to 4000 Hz) with our calibrated sound meter from work and will do a series of post fitting measures also.
