Thread: Gearbox stuck to Engine?

Considering how much force you needed to get the engine to mate to the gearbox, you have probably destroyed the clutch centre. You will need similar force to separate the two. If depressing the clutch fork doesn't do the job you will need to attatch two brackets to the bellhousing somehow so you can jack the gearbox back off the engine. Or use a 50mm holesaw under the bellhousing to provide access to the clutch pressure plate bolts and undo the pressure plate so the clutch comes off with the gearbox.

I feel for you with that problem, when you have a go at something for yourself, sometimes it it pays to have someone with experience, to watch on while you work.

There are a few old retired mechanics about, that "I know nothing mate" but would love to get out and sit there while watching with a coldie.

I think Bee utey is right in what he has said, you may have wrecked the centre of the clutch plate.
Is there a slim chance, a forgotten piece of cloth is still in there?

or youce stuffed the spigot bearing.

pump up the clutch hyrdaulics with grease, jam the clutch fully off and then crank the engine over on the starter.

If youve got all the bolts out of the bell housing and that doesnt get it moving I wanna come watch the next bit.
