Yes i,ve certainly done a lot of work on the suspension plus built a trailer for our boat with independent suspension attached photo was take outside my mothers place on our way to the cape last year (2011). the whole rig allowed us to get in and out of some pretty remote area's, no one around for hundreds of klm's and great fishing. now that's defender living.

when you think about it there are a lot of road trains about where the number plate is off to the side due to the towing pin in the centre of the bullbar and then the uprights of the bullbar are about 1/3 way across as well so the number can only go on the side not the centre,
i will have the same problem with my britpart style winch bar when the winch gets fitted.
    hope this helps you

    Rego plate location.

If its legal as long as its "on the front, facing the front" Ref Vic police, would it be legal if it was attached to the front of the roof rack. That would stop all the problems of off roading and losing the number plate.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I've now mounted the rego on the RHS of the bullbar and it seems ok with WA's finest! They've been unusually active the last few days here in the Pilbara and I've past patrol cars at least 4 times without a second glance in the last couple days...

I moved my plate yesterday to the drivers side on the bar, so I can see the winch drum better.

I would doubt that they would notice a number plate.
