    Relocating the front rego plate

    All,

I've just fitted my new winch to my Front Runner bulbar and I've got a problem with the rego plate. I've gone for synthetic line and fitted a hawse to suit. The problem is that there is now no space left for the rego without having it sticking up (around 75mm) above the front mounting plate and further obstructing airflow (already have Genesis spotties) into the Puma's radiator.

    Questions then:

    1. Is it legal in WA to fit the rego on the right hand of the bulbar (flat forward facing section outside the chassis mounting tabs)? It is clearly visible from all angles and at the same level it would be if it was in the centre.

    2. If it's not legal to do this, what's the opinion out there regarding the potential airflow issues the 75 mm full width protrusion might cause?

    3. Does someone in Oz sell a hinging rego bracket to overcome this whole issue?

Not sure if it's the same as Victoria but, I was told by a Victorian cop that it has to be on the front facing the front. As long as it was like that it was legal. I got pulled on a tractor that had the front plate on the side of the bonnet for the same reasons that you are having.
