I waved back as there is no need to punish them further for such poor taste.

When I had mine, I had a few good waves from Tojo drivers too,, I think they may be secret Land Rover tragics as well 😉

We get waves every weekend without fail and usually during the week! Had one last night from a nice maroon with white roof 110 on our way home from dinner in Richmond NSW

Defender waves and parking rules are as old as time itself. We parked next to a fully kitted out Defender from Italy, in Hobart the other day. We exchanged notes on the windscreen, which is akin to big wave. It's a global phenomenon.

I get them almost every day either driving in Perth or heading down to the farm in south west WA.

Had as a chat to a guy and his wife yesterday outside Manjimup Woolies. He had his tdi parked there. Turned out he had a 2012 as well.

Amusing thing is I have a 2014 110 and my dad’s 300 tdi as well,

The new one is definitely more comfortable for long distance. But the old one has the front vents which nothing can beat as well as a much much better turning circle.

The old old one is our old workhorse and is full of all sorts of farm equipment. A heap of star pickets also neatly fit in the rear tray and slot under the rear seat.

The way way I look at it they both have their charms!

Had my first encounter with another Perentie at Bunnings a couple of days ago. The spot next to it was free but at the critical moment another car turned the corner in front of me. I willed it away with an under the breath "no you don't you bastard that's my spot" and the vehicle drove right past leaving a space so the two lizards could get acquainted again . Unfortunately didn't have my phone so no photo. Said hello to the owner upon return and exchanged pleasantries, they must of had a bit of a surprise when they walked out.

The landrover wave is alive and well in the south west of WA.along with the coversations struck in carparks and the notes left on windscreens just part of the Landy THING
I find quite a few non landrover Defender owners are attracted and strike up a conversation as most or their families had landys in the past .Just last Thursday a local farmer ,a long time Toyota owner has two Defenders and loves them .,just one of many new contacts I have met over the years.
    To me thats great !
    40 YEARS WITH LANDYS.LOVE EM!!
