    Where's the Defender wave gone?

    Hi all,

I have noticed that fellow defender owners don't seem to be waving to each other as much as they did in the past. Especially puma owners, and the worst "offenders" were in Victoria. Come on guys, thats one of the things that set us apart from the others! who cares about Jap 4x4s. And discos-Dime a dozen. But Defenders, its like a club within a club. So come on guys lets get the rage back.

    Any thoughts?

    Nino.

We have a Puma and we ALWAYS wave at other Landrovers - Discos as well...It's a tradition.

Tinted windows make it a bit hard to see an "inside" wave, so we usually try & and give a BIG "outside" wave

I wave at all Landrovers I see including Series, Countys, Defenders, Discoverys and Range Rovers..... and I am Puma Owner???

However, usually I only give the newer Range Rovers an index finger wave as they rarely wave back. I suspect a lot of the drivers of older model Range Rovers used to be Series or Defender owners as they give me a good wave?

If you do not get a wave from me it's because I haven't seen you, or the tinting my Defender came with is too dark.....

As a new Puma owner, its not something I am used to doing, however I am starting to get in the swing.
Mind you, I don't always recognise a LR coming the other way sometimes, as either my mind is on other things, or I am on the phone. (Bluetooth of course)

Know what you mean Kris. It is sometimes hard to wave to other Landrovers in the city - too busy concentrating on traffic etc. When you get out of the rush of city traffic it's better.

I have noticed a fair few 110/130 TDI3/5 not giving the wave, as i drive from the GC/BNE most days. There also the ones that use the same road everyday of the week. But i think its been like this for along time, not everyone who drivers a defender is a land rover addict.

Sometimes I can't differentiate a defender from a LC troopcarrier or an old nissan patrol. Shame on my eyes. I always raise my palm or index finger once I confirmed it's defender.

Me too - this is my first Land Rover and PUMA - keep up the wave!
(It seems owners of new Discos and Range Rovers don't understand)
