Thread: Where's the Defender wave gone?

Yesterday, on the 2nd day of owner ship (of a defender a year older than me) I had 2 waves from different defender drives so of course I waved back. Its such a cool thing how we can recognise each other nutiness without even knowing them.

Why?

Taking a friend on his first 4WD experience (thus also his first Defender experience) tomorrow to Newnes then Capertee and along the Turon River. After extolling the Defender wave to him, if we see a Defender and don't get a wave back, it's gong to be most embarrassing. So anyone on GWH tomorrow, be on your toes. Defender wave honour is at stake.

Crossed the Turon River while on the Hill End side of the Bridle track on Sunday.

There is a fair bit of water going down it at the moment.

There's a Disco driver here in Darwin that waves at me. I never know what to do so I pretend to not have eye contact with them and fiddle with the radio or slip under the dashes line of sight if conditions suit.

Sorry Discos and RR are rapid departues from a true Rover an they do not qualify. It's rather simple actually.

Don't worry about Discos and RR, my mate wants to know if the Defender wave should now include the Tata.

If it has a green oval on it I wave.

I'm looking forward to 'the wave'. Now, just have to prise the keys from my daughters fingers, that and avoid any contact with the missus and I'll be driving up and down the highways just to wave again.
