That's allowed! I wave at G-Wagens too now that there are a few getting about.

I got a couple to wave back from their red Defender to me today, on the Midlands Highway and I was driving 'Fred' ( a D1 ).

    My wife's driving my Defender.

My wife is driving the Defender as her car is in the dealers for repairs. She doesn't like driving the Defender usually but as I'm away she's had no choice. Anyway she sent me this email I thought I'd share.

    "I got a defender wave!!!
I'm enjoying driving your car actually, getting used to it really quickly. Was very chuffed that I finally saw another one to wave to - I was losing hope then just as I came back through brookside I got it."

So thank you to whoever you are, I think I've just lost my car

I love the wave. It makes my day!
    Cheers all
    Nino.

Have seen quite a few LR's recently, and today whilst driving back along the coast from Melb down towards Mordialloc, spotted a lot of RR's, they were looking quite hard at us, so nodded to a few then waved at the last one. Not sure if they appreciated the acknowledgment or not

Here in the Hunter I reckon I get about a 3 in 5 return on waves which isn't too bad at all. I'd say at least 1 in 5 doesn't wave due to not seeing me in time or distracted....that's probably my average on return waves.

So if a 130 trayback in the Hunter doesn't wave at you, I just didn't see you in time...

    Hi Rick

I unfortunately have to agree with you - they seem to have become a bit of a fashion accessory for cashed-up Gen-Y's with absolutely no idea (no offence intended to the younger enthusiasts among us)!

I suppose that's also the reason there are so many almost brand new ones traded back at various other brand's dealers - Some Muppet working out too late that just because it has the wheelbase of a RAV doesn't mean its going to drive like one in the traffic!!!

    Cheers,

    Lou

    Thumbs up

Whilst we weren't aware of this "custom", Wifey said that when she gets "hers" (it will be her car), she would've been waving anyway....She is very excited.....but not about the delivery wait!
We did see a nice silver 110 with ULR number plates parked in Mordialloc recently.
    Cheers, Pickles.

    Lake Cluny

I gave Chris Bowden and his 130 a wave as I left, after I picked up some goodies from him and helped hook up his van.

He had been camping at Lake Cluny with some other members of the LROCT and I had caught up with them yesterday to have a bit of a drive around the area.
