How to talk you wife into buying a 90?

Anyone had much success with getting two defenders into the drive way?

Currently have a 110, and trying to upside the missus to go for a 90. She is aiming for small sub style: Mitsubishi ASX, Subi forester etc.

    When I see these MY12 for 39k I just can't help but think,"c'mon! Let's get serious!"
Not as economical, and probably not a great idea but what methods should I employ to influence purchase? Tips welcomed.

I've been down that path, it does not cut the mustard.
I used the 'need it for work' line for the 110 , I just can't use the tax deduction thing on a 2nd 'company car' esp since I'm the only employee.

If anyone can find a valid reason please let us know !!!

    Benz,
Must have missed the thread. Where does she live?!!

    Fellas, I have tried:

    1. hold its value more than other cars you're considering..
ans: not really financial decision anyway

    2. Chicks in '90's look incredibly sexy!
    "I dont care!"

    3. Crumple zone comment will come tomorrow

starting tomorrow she is taking the 110 to work. Hoping for positive experience. Have tidied it up inside, put a nice cd in, I havent really let her drive it that much so hopefully a few days alone with the Defender will start a love affair.

I think she likes the wave thing, so if you see a black 110 in MAckay, give her a wave and tell her the Defender looks good, but 90 would be more suitable!

We've got a 110 and a Sport. The Defender was in having a service done today(found more leaks), when hubby rings me to say that there's a yellow 90 there for sale, and wouldn't it look good in the driveway. Now I'm a converted Land Rover tragic, but even I had to draw the line at that (for now)

They are very sexy cars. Maybe you could sweeten the deal by giving her something else that she wants to go with it. Just a thought

Maybe if I threw in a wedding ring... probably not the best motivation for marriage. We do have the kids, the mortgage already though... and jeesz, a 90 & 110 in the drive.. How good would that be! So when one is at the dealers getting fixed I could still drive a defender! beauty!

If she is in any way similar to Mrs Spud you have zero chance of getting her into a 90. We had a 90 and a 110 for two or three years and she only ever drove the 90 ONCE - and that was because her car was 'parked in' and she needed to go in a hurry. Heard about it for a week afterwards

Good luck though - it you don't try, you'll never get!
