    Would you replace these bushes?

As the title guys, or the rear control arms on a 2006 defender (original bushes)... This is with the car level, can easily get 5mm plus gap between bush and chassis with smallest bit of flex.

    Thoughts please.

    Jon,

Those bushes are well due to be replaced, the first pic seems to show that they have even dropped in the centre 'guide'.

You'll notice that if they get any worse, the vehicle will start throttle steering, as the rear axle pushes forward under load and drops back on a trailing throttle.

    I'd chuck 'em.

I agree with Justin. They are well past their useby date. I would expect you will find an improvement in steering which you may not have noticed deteriorating over time. Cheers, 130man.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much what I thought.

Another job for the to-do list.

I'll probably do the other end at the same time too.

    Thx

    No jack or anything required...

Do one side at a time...

Whole job for front bushes only about 20 minutes....

Ok, so rear trailing arm bushes (4 in total) to replace...

Would you do the front radius arm bushes (6 in total) at the same time? After-all, they've been in just as long and have gone everywhere the rears have!

Next question, for those that need pressing in, Superpro with no press or genuine with press???

    Thx
    J
