Gday i fitted 2 of these to my TDI 300 and its been a fantastic improvement to access. i also installed the available storage cupboard to the LHS only with 1 centre shelf. I have also fitted some shock cord to hold billies and the camping gear that you want accesable including the mornos gear its worked very well. saves a few tubs in the back.

After all shouldn't we support AULRO members and stores if they can match the prices quoted on equivilent equipment and numbers?
    Thanks.

I would of course prefer to buy from Daniel / Mulgo.

I asked Daniel about a group buy price a couple of pages back (and pointed out an error in the postage calculator on his website). He replied to my post, saying he had fixed the error in the postage calculator, but ignored the first part of my post. I took that to be his answer.

I assume the polycarbonate are clear, but have asked them. Plexiglass is a trade name for acrylic (PMMA = polymethlmethacrylate). Acrylic cracks and crazes when exposed to UV. Polycarbonate is used as a lightweight equivalent to glass in many race cars, and does not suffer the same problems as acrylic. It does scratch more easily than glass.

I personally will be going glass or aluminium.
OK, put me down for 1 glass window please.

And thanks very much for researching and organising the group buy!

    Cheers

Does any one have a picture of the solid aluminium version? I would like to compare it to the frontrunner version.

Also, do you think the solid version could be painted to match the colour of the vehicle?

They are the frontrunner ones, I would like to see the solid aluminium ones from this other mob.

From some of the photos I have looked at, it seems to me that the FrontRunner once only open to around 90 degree (meaning I would hit my head every time - as would anyone else over about 1.70 tall).
The Mulgo/eBay once on the other hand seem to open a lot further.

    Mulgo/eBay

    FrontRunner

That's a good point Frank, but does highlight another potential issue for some people worth considering. I think the FrontRunner one doesn't go up so far as to interfere with equipment clamped to the outside of a roofrack - like highlift jacks, shovels, etc. Could be a restriction to the other ones. I don't see any reason, other than additional cost, why someone can't change the gas struts for slightly longer travel ones to get further than 90 degrees if you wanted. Maybe worth discussing.

I do like the look of the sealing arrangement on the FrontRunner ones with the drain holes along the bottom that match the standard holes in the original LR frame.
