Thread: 5 spd 300tdi defender to Auto ?????

Transfer case lever or auto shifter? It has all been done before, so you shouldn't have too many obstacles to oversome.

as well as all the more obvious things, you just need the transfer case shift bracket and lever from the auto disco, it bolts straight to the auto trans extension housing you will also need the bracket for the kickdown cable on the injector pump. easy conversion and worth it imo.

JustinC, I will have all the parts required so no worries on that side of things. iwas informed that the transfer selector was in the wrong place and had to be modified/ shifted to a new spot, is this correct,or does it just require some modification to the transmission tunnel.

no mods req at all, it comes through the floor where the old manual shifter does. if you are using a donor disco auto trans then the shifter housing etc should be fitted there already, you will see where it comes through the floor if you take some measurements.
