    Heaters and Aircon

    Hi Guys,

I would like to remove the in engine bay A/C from my 110 and replace it with a Tdi heater to give me more room.

What happens when I undo one of the A/C pipes? is there anything but gas in it? Is it poisonous? stain etc? Any issues doing this at home or should I have the gas taken out first? (note - the landrover isn't mobile at the moment....)

Also, I'm looking at getting a second hand heater from a Tdi, but it is listed as "Tdi heater assembly with A/C condenser" Is it possible to only use the heater part ? I dont want anything in my passenger footwell.

    Thanks!

First up the refrigerant is both ozone depleting and a green house gas, apart from the fine if you are caught releasing it, it really does nothing for the planet so get the gas reclaimed.

The compressor needs very little modification to be endless air and about a gazillion times better than an electric air compressor.

An a/c condenser is what goes in front of the radiator so you don't need it at all and removing the one you have will make the radiator more efficient

As for the rest post questions and there is enough of us to help
