Large relay at the top / centre of firewall??

I need to pick up a hd positive feed for my driving lights & noticed there is big relay at the centre of the firewall up the top and easy to get at. Does anyone know wot this replay does and if it would be ok to splice onto the positive?

I can run from the battery but woul rather have a smaller run. Any other easy points to pick up a positive in the engine bay? The alternator / starter seems like a bugger to get to

I think the one you refer to is the glow plug timer relay. I took my supply from the maxi fuses just to the right when looking into the engine bay.

On a 200 Tdi,either the Alternator or the battery feed at the starter would be easy access.
