As you know a cab extension can be quite complicated and from what I understand might require some form of engineering certification when you are done. But there is a possible alternative I thought about. What about QT bucket seats? Specially made for truck cab Land Rovers to give taller drivers more leg room. I called these people up in UK and had a chat and they seem pretty genuine. This might not be any help for your situation, but just an idea.

    Challenge Seat Package - S1064 - Interior - Defender 130 - Qt Services

    Enjoy your Land Rover!

    Cheers

Hey thanks Alan for the link. I had a look and will consider it.

IMO what would be ideal, and yes it would require a pro to do the fab, IS get the doors made the etxra length...push the back of the cab etc back and fab the new roof as you would anyway.

Its not just the leg room, but my shoulder rubs and my arm hangs out the window

That still happens in a dual cab where you can get the seat right back except your head now lines right up with the bolt for the seat belt

Awesome, Might be worth an email to see if they will make and sell the skin....could be cut down the the length required as I think 10 inch may be a touch to long for most. I know sliding windows not as good as wind up...but

Great idea. I had thought of that also, but its really changing things then.
I guess I will have to do what 110 stationwagon drivers do and lean forward when wanting to see around the b pillar.

Just a follow up - there is someone selling an extra-cab for a Defender in the Wrecking section: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/wrecking-n...r-130-td5.html

...I will also have for sale the modified extra cab from an 1984 120 tray back, big new tray with canvas canopy, two front doors (same as county), set of 35" BFG KM2 tyres on 15" rims, and a heap of other stuff also.

PM or phone Andrew 0400 124456

Not sure if it of interest, but it might save you a lot of work.....
