What would be your ideal modification to your defer?

I want a stereo that is ambient noise sensitive. ie the volume increases and decreases in proportion to the ambient noise in the cabin so your listening volume is constant. I find that my hand reaches to the stereo dial as often as I reach for the gear stick.

The best modification I have done to my TD5 Defender is - Extending the central locking antennae. I now can lock my car from more than 200mm away from the passenger window. Was a simple procedure, but makes it much more user friendly.

    Cheers,

    Ken

200mm (20cm) wow - it must have been bad before the mod

Hey Dock, has your SVX had the 2012 door rubber conversion done ? If not put it to the top of your build list.

It will go a long way to keep dust, noise and water out

Yeah I have bought the rubbers but haven’t fitted them yet, I’ve done my own fix and it works great, Il wait until they perish and then fit them.

I have also sikaflexed all of the gaps in the cab, I took all of the interior out shut the shed door and got the young bloke in there with a torch.

I found heaps some I could poke a pen through, just need to do the battery box which has a massive gap over 150mm long and 6mm wide then under the driver’s seat, not as bad as the battery box but none the less.

I'm sure it will change over time, but for now...

A revised layshaft design that has more meat in the shaft at the 5th/reverse gear section...

Love the dust, the holes, the noise. Love adjusting the stereo to accommodate the road noise. Love that it's an off-road vehicle that can go on the road.

A pair of ‘Force 9 Axles’ from Ashcroft. Not enough time or enough money. Mainly the money.
That and the wife would not be very impressed
