If you have done 300k on the originals, sounds like you would be well satisfied with the genuine part!
My 99MY TD5 Defender Extreme has done nearly 300K and still has the original shocks on the front so I figure it is probably time to change them...
Can someone please steer me in the right direction for an online purchase for front and rear shockers. I am not looking for the Wordl's best nor do I want something that will give way in a few km. Middle of the road pricewise would be great.
Thanks,
Howard

						Hi Howard,
I replaced Front and rear shockies off my new 2012 Defender 90 when I added a 2' lift kit after just 1500kms. Agree with Mark that you should stick with the original equipment as it has served you well.
Cheers Mike

Yeah! What Roger said, if you are that satisfied with the originals, then some more of the same will probably be just the thing you need. You won't change the handling at all, you'll likely get as good a run out of another set of genuines as you did the first lot, and as Roger adds a lot cheaper. Win/win situation.
Bilsteins @ approx $75 each + postage from e.shocks, i would do the fronts and the steering damper at the same time but thats just me

Yes Bilsteins and Koni are VERY good shocks, but remember even their direct replacement will have different valving to the LR shock...so in essence they will "feel" different.
Now the older genuine LR shocks were not much chop, But a few guys here that are worth listening to are giving very good reports on the genuine shocks fitted to the new TDCi defenders (engine codename puma)
Im not sure if they are the same as fitted to the TD5's, but would be worth investigating
cheers
