    Convincing the mrs..

I'm looking at getting a new 4wd within the next 12 months, and am leaning towards the defender 90. However, the mrs thinks they're boring and ugly . (She is trying to push me towards to a wrangler)

Does anyone have any tips/tricks that will help me in convincing her that it's the way to go?

    Cheers,

if the wrangler had a proper roof and i was in a position to buy new i would consider it along side a defender

the wrangler sport has the option of a diesel and auto

It does have a solid roof... Comes standard on the 4 door...

Along with a removable soft top for when u pull the solid roof off

    Happy wife, Peaceful life...

    Go the Jeep....

The 2.8L CRD is a Pearler, the 4(5) door has hard and soft tops.
Pulls like a train, much more civilised than the Defender....

I'd go Jeep before a 90 any day... And probably before a 110 as well.

Only catch Towing Capacity.... Only 2,200 kg for an Auto 5 door and only 1,000kg for a 3 door Wrangler.

i know they have a solid roof but the gutter only covers the doors so to put a full roof rack on you need bars running down the full height of the body....seems silly

Either something to do with body stiffness etc, or lack of mass... or maybe Jeep is more honest about towing capacity than LR.

I'd go for the Jeep CRDI, easy on fuel and could'nt be less reliable than a Land Rover...

Boring & ugly... Most mrs would prefer that in your new mistress! Go the defender. You heard the old adage to do with good old American know-how.... Why do jeeps break down? Because they can! In seriousness though speak to both dealers & see if you can loan/demo each type over a weekend. You & the mrs can get the best feeling for either. Keep mind the possibilities for modifying a defender are endless.
