My main air con fuse is 30amp, I think there are 2 fuses 1 x 30 amp and 1 x 20 amp I think.
Hello. I replaced the main wiring to the battery some time ago on my air con circuit and I put in a main 15A fuse. They haven't been blowing immediately but after maybe the air con on for an hour the fuse will blow.
Looks like a slow blow, not an immediate pop.
I have replaced the 15A fuse with a 30A. Does anyone know what size I should be using? The fan / control circuit would be minimal but I imagine the compressor solenoid would have a reasonable draw

Thanks mate, maybe that was the problem
Like I said it was more of a slow melt than a quick blow.
I felt the wiring when I got home and all seemed ok
Just have a close look and check the condenser fan wiring (both at the fan connexions and at the fuses):
1. is the wiring getting hot to the touch after, say 10min, use ?
2. are the crimped connectors at the fuses getting frayed/kinked etc ?
after 20 years the wiring and the crimps & connectors will have deteriorated and it would be worth replacing any wiring that is gettiing hot and blowing fuses with adequate new wire.
add: I note after I posted that you had posted writing that th wiring felt ok - you could still have a look at the connectors
