    Bilsteins from Rimmer Brothers

    Hi All
Has anyone fitted these shocks to a 2002 Defender? (It will have 35mm raised KING springs in it.)

    From the UK:
Bilstein Uprated Shock Absorber Kit - Defender 90-110 at www.rimmerbros.co.uk

    Then from a local supplier:
    http://www.roverparts.com.au/inc/sdetail/22776

Are these the same shocks? Part numbers are differebnt but is that a country thing? (UK / AUS).

Looking at the price at Rimmers - they are much cheaper to buy from the UK than here.

    Thanks in advance.

Could I call to your attention the link below.
Look at what you are not allowed to ship.
You may get away with by not declaring them as dangerous goods but then you may not. I don't know what happens if dangerous goods are found by the airline.

Blah blah blah...... Do you have any idea how many shocks have been freighted from the USA to oz for personal application, all being declared. If they are all going under the radar then the couriers like ups AND FedEx that shipped my bilsteins only have themselves to blame.

And since when is it the purchaser's responsibility to have a good declared when its the seller organizing the shipping???

    I never said it was.
Only the result is the same if the goods are seized etc. You don't get them.
Just an extra thing to consider, just like the DHL $65 fee which we all complain about.
I recall another thread from a few months ago where the poster complained that the US dealer would not air freight shocks.
When is knowing the facts considered Blah, blah blah? it must be bliss to value ignorance so much.

When is misinterpreting knowing the facts. Re read your own link. It clearly states they can be shipped as long as they are declared and it will cost a bit more.

Again, I guess all the shocks that have been purchased from the USA from companies like eshock, bilstein, fox, king etc that come in big boxes with shocks or shock absorbers written on them, including it stated on the paper work is just plain ignorance......
