They have gone! As I type they are in the Air somewhere over the Bight I reckon. I ran the girls down to Melbourne last night and I can assure everyone it is not going to be a quiet trip with lots of nattering going on .
By the sounds of the conversation they are going to spend today shopping. They are hoping to get to Norseman tonight but I think the way they are talking I would be impressed if they get passed the Perth Hills.

If similar previous trips i have heard about are anything to go by, four chicks in any car for that long is a recipe for trouble.

    Hope they have fun!

    Well they are off!

    and shopping

There is report of a clunky rear diff which doesn't sound great and is of some concern.

Maybe "A" frame ball joint, loose/worn suspension bush, or a driver that's not real familiar with the Landy backlash.

Before they hit the road, get some one to make sure the wheel gearings are freshly greased and the brake pads are good.

And before they set off, a RAC or equivalent, safety check of radiator hoses, etc would give piece of mind as well.

A old mechanic friend of mine once told me,
don't worry about whines, wows or whistles,
do something quick about the clicks, clonks, and crunches.

Check that when greasing the wheel bearings, probably the splines in flanges and the outside spline of the axles are a bit worn.
