You guys should complain!!! My first car was an Austin A70. In wet weather the ritual was this... remove socks and shoes and roll up long trousers, put on raincoat (this was inside the car). Why? Because water poured through the almost non existent sun roof rubbers and splashed up past the pedals for a similar reason. However...no amount of rain ever stopped the motor. It had a waterproof covering of years of greasy gunk all over it.

I recently had the wet foot issue with water coming in and collecting in the driver side speaker. Tracked it down to the seals around front vents above bonnet.
Problem solved, I've silicon sealed the vents up.

    Now I don't have a wet foot.

Previously I did a water crossing with my air vents up and washed my firewall out.

You'd think I'd learn after the first F@#k up.
Especially when the first one was a stagnant boghole in the wombat forest.

Sue, I'm sure your time will come. That's when you know you're a defender driver.

Umm.. the windscreen is wet and the wipers are working like those from a 1950s holden fj - you know, the ones that when you put your speed up the wipers slow down and when you coast along the wipers speed up... (Oh when 110pete's wipers are turned off they grind to a halt 3/4 of the way down to their stop position and with a couple of wacks on the windscreen they retreat to where they should be stopped near the bottom of the w/s)...

Sorry Sue has a more recent version of the defender... You know it's raining when a normal toymotor or the like would have nice variable wiper intermittent control and you're stuck with only one version of an intermittent wipe.. (Hey are there conversions so that I can get variable intermittent control of wiper... a job to google...)
