    200tdi & Engine Saver

    Help please ...

Looking to fit an Engine Saver or Engine Watchdog to my son's 200tdi Defender.
Hoping someone has already installed a Watchdog, and can suggest suitable location for the sender.
I understand that the Engine Saver is 'no coolant' alarm and mounts in radiator, while Watchdog is 'engine temperature' alarm and the sender needs to be mounted somewhere on the motor.

which versions of what probes did you get with it?

I like having the low coolant one DEEP down in the thermostat housing (this assumes you have the long insulated version of the probe that you're ment to trim to lenght) if you have the single depth one then the radiator plug is your best bet.

The temp one depends on if its a coolant temp or K probe connection.

If its the coolant temp one there is a blanking plug in the head you can pull and buy an adaptor to suit if its a K probe one pick a bolt on the head thats not a head bolt and is out of the primary airflow of the radiator, some people report that covering it with epoxy ones its in place helps give more accurate readings.
