I remember reading some of you Puma owners are melting mudflaps. In the UK the exhaust points out of the corners so I think its an LRA issue trying to adapt so that the exhaust is straight out the back....
Anyway I saw this on Kahns 'Chelsea' tractor monstrosity
They have basically enlarged the flap brackets to allow an exhaust to pass through. They only want £899 for them!!
Who here can CNC a bit of aluminum, bend it and drill some holes?
I think a bracket replacement kit for the exhaust side would work well. You could just cut your old flap to a template and fix it onto the new bracket. The bracket would only need one 2.5"'ish hole for the exhaust, positioned up as high as possible and to the outer edge of the x-member so bracket would not need to be as big as the kahn one - it could be a tidy solution.

Looking to address the melting problem, I've just bought 3 LHS and 3 RHS mudflaps complete with loose brackets of the UK 300Tdi design (no cut out) for the specific purpose of some R&D. 6 no Genuine mudflaps with the Land Rover badge plus 6 no genuine green stickered brackets for less than I can replace the melted LHS one locally...
I might now actually see if one of our fabricator/ suppliers can use an OME bracket to come up with a similar solution (dimensions etc).
One of the problems I see is the amount of movement on the exhaust (last rubber hanger is very close) and it banging metal to metal... The other being that the exhaust is much further to the left and quite a bit higher.

Are those plates fixed or do they hinge?
They are fixed using the standard 3 mounting bolts on a 90. The link to a standard bracket to compare.

Those Kahn Defenders are not intended to go off road...
That UK spec tow bar has destroyed his departure angle in any case, but you'll rip those brackets off very quickly with a Hayman Reece type tow bar and the standard departure angle of a 90!

I dont know if it would fail ADR?
I'd imagine its got wheel spacers for the wider track to start with, but at least the tail pipes face backwards...
The ADR comment was mostly is jest... I'm still pretty certain someone will pick a breach or two!
