Have you got low range? Check it hasn't jumped into neutral in the transfer case
just suffered a total failure of foward progress. no bangs ,no grating gears no clutch smoking /slipping etc. basicaly turning a corner at the lights and nothing.
the gearbox was fully recoed and transfer box out about 5000 kms ago, car feels as if its going into gear but thats it. clutch pedal feels normal . also no drive when diff lock in , absolutly nothing no bad noise or anything strange .the car hasnt even been on rougher than normal dirt b roads ,so no 4wding.
any thoughts?

Does it move in any gear (4th as this is a straight through main shaft gear rather than using the layshaft). Does the Diff lock lever feel normal? Are the propshafts moving when you select gear and let your foot off the clutch (just to determine if your fault is Gearbox/Transfer box or Diffs?

My first guess is its fallen out of high range...
everything operates{feels normal} nothing in any gear and nothing in high or low w difflock in high or low or g box in high or low. posibly a linkage issue resulting in the leavers functioning but linkages not engageing? {the box and transfer case was removed when the mec replaced the g box, although i would have thought you would notice a difference in the cdl lever feel}
could a clutch issue result in this?
cheers{well no cheer today lol } mark

If you don't touch the clutch and change gears with the engine running what happens?
Is it different with the transfer in neutral then in gear?
My point is does it feel different
If you pull the transfer into gear with the engine running and the main gearbox in 4th gear do you get a crunch?
Careful doing all this don't force anything we are looking for evidence that the shafts in the gearbox are turning
got it racv'd to the guys who fitted the gearbox a few months ago, absolutly no drive anywhere ...ill go in and talk to them tomorow when they open in the morning

SubscriberBet one of the drive member flange that slip onto the drive shafts and transfer drive out to the wheels have stripped. You might get drive by going into diff lock as only one of them is likely to have stripped out.
The original drive flanges lasted about 40,000ks on mine each time I had them replaced before they started introducing slop into the drive train. I now have a set of cheap aftermarket Heavy duty flanges - not maxidrive but still heavy duty - done 120,000's on them and they are still tight.
there is an issue with the front drive member but...... theres an issue either with the transfer case or according to mec whos a bit befuddled by it all is thinking clutch although i cant see how a clutch issue would let you rotate the front driveshaft with both wheels on the ground.
my logic says that its a shaft pluss somthing in transfer case , ive never had a clutch issue with no warning and then theve stuck on not stuck unengaged.
im praying its stuck in neutral and has a flogged out drive flange ,broken shaft or buggered diff center. Anyhow pulled spare cv's shafts and diff center .Unfortunatly i didnt think to take the handbreak off before trying to turn the rear prop shaft.
still cant comprehend how a clutch can stick unengaged or disintegrate with no warning when the car has been on the tar only scince they replaced the gear box
