Thread: Puma 2.2 Water Temp & Ultra Gauge

Its never had a problem with pressure, just higher than normal temps. Its probably the wrong time of year to be trying to find such a minor temp difference. Im sure if the Ultragauge is reading correctly, even the dealer will be able to replicate the fault come 30+ degree days in summer.

At least that way your box and uni joints and diffs will live a little longer. Over heating will soon be the least of your worries. If it wasnt for all the electrickery engine management you would have a severe case of whiplash by now!
Excuse my ignorance, Can you tell me a bit more?
I always thought it will hurt nothing but the transfer box. Will the engine overheat as a result?

Going by what you have all posted, my vehicle reaching 98 degrees without any load is certainly abnormal considering ambient temps below 20 degrees....

The fluctuations seem very rapid compared to the old truck, and to clarify the new 110 is plated 2012, but has the dual finish alloys and alpine stereo, which I was of the opinion meant it was the "newer" model.

Im just not sure where to go from here. Any advice, or more readings from other users would be greatly appreciated.
My 2012 130 run hot when its laboured.

See this post where i have logged temp against load.
    Ultra gauge temperature reading

I asked the dealer about the high temperature and was amused that they had referred to the AULRO site to report that it is normal

Plus im told lugging around too low is not good for the lay(?) shafts and bearings in the gear box. 5th is the direct drive shaft and should be your preferred place to be if the revs are ok.

I admit my non mechanical skills, and await a flaming.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
