Do you mean the shaft/universal from the steering column is slipping on the input shaft to the steering box?
If so, you might be lucky in that the some of those shafts have an aluminium universal, and it might just be the splines flogged out in the softer aluminium bit and the steering box shaft might be OK.

					 The uni joint does not appear to be Alloy, I think cast iron so am hesident to order a complete shaft with out first inspecting the input shafts splines.  Any advice on the 98 as against the 96  model mentioned in this thread.  Also any clues to make getting the shaft out a bit easier.
