We did the experiment with my 110 TD5.... 72L to the full top......11L when ambar ligth came in.... both with a Britpart pump..... Don't know if the ambar come later with the VDO I have now. I use to get 600-650 km in a full tank before ambar light (now with air conditioner all the time I feel lucky if can get 560 KM). My car always gave an excelent consumption until the government made a law about sulphur in the diesel. The new diesel is better, but it trashes my consumption, it passed from 40kpg as an average to 32kpg. I had to change my ECU map to improve it. Right now I'm in the 36 kpg with A/C, a great improvement

kpg??? What sort of measure is that???

I have run out once in mine. I do have a long range tank of supposedly 127 litres, but I could only put 114 in.

Just bear in mind also that if you are out bush and off road you will use more fuel per km than running on the tar seal.

As for bigger tank. We would be almost the only users wanting more.
The other markets don't suffer the tyranny of distance.
Mine makes a brief squirty noise on startup if it's less than 1/4 full.

I think Numpty was referring to the mix of imperial and metric
Kilometres per Litre or Miles per Gallon

Must have been pushing the envelope today. Amber light was on for a fair bit, not sure of the distance but when I filled up she took 69l with 725km on the trip meter.
