Where do you put your UHF?

I fitted mine to the cubby box initially and wasgiving some thought to mounting it on the dash but then moved it north when I had a roof console made. Both the unit and the handset live up on the driver's side of the console.

It's a GME TX unit and the controls are not on the handset, but I find that the controls are easy to operate without taking my eyes off the road as long as I know which channel I'm on to begin with.

Having it all up top and out of the way is wonderful - and it's easy to hear even if you're a bit mutton.

I think this is a good idea, Do you have any photos of this? I'm thinking of doing the same!

I have mounted mine in Dept. of the Interior Roof Console along with the HF radio as well.

Bolts straight in with no cutting of roof visors and also utilizes the Fender interior light as well as additional map reading lights.

Mounted the HF main unit under the rear seat box along with a DC DC inverter

Saves heaps of space and keeps everything radio wise handy.

Fitted my ICOM-440N on the back of the cubby box.

I ran the mic cable through the ex box to a RJ45 connector on the front. This allows the mic to be disconnected easily and also allows an 'extension cable' to be used so I can be outside the car.

The mic works very well with all controls and speaker in it.

I fitted my Uniden UHF in front of the cup holder using a couple of $1.00 angle brackets fitted under the cup holder. The mike is mounted using double sided mounting tape. No holes needed to be drilled as existing bolt holes are used.
