    2010 Defender Accessory Socket

Looking to wire up a socket to run my Engel fridge separate from the cig. lighter socket. I note that there is a fuse f2 in the secondary fuse box under the rh seat marked accessory socket. This is in addition to the cig lighter fuse f43 in the dash panel. I am unable to find an accessory socket in the vehicle or any reference to one in the drivers handbook. Has any member of the forum found one ?
    Thanks, Jim.

There's normally a cable (unused), running down to the right hand rear of your Defender, but be careful running a fridge off your main battery, and/or with standard cabling.

You'd be better off running new twin core (at least 6mm) with an line fuse, and make a new socket completely.

G'day flywheel au.I ran a Engel supplied cable from my 2nd battery,it has the female connector for the fridge cable,15 years ago and have never had a problem. The Deefer has done 423000ks ,the cable came with a mounting bracket on the connector I ran the cable along the bottom of the door frame under the mat and placed bracket on the wheel arch behind the rear seat.Don't forget to put a safety fuse in the system close to the battery.Best of luck Lochie

Yep if you remove the rear speaker you will find the spare circuit but as mentioned not advisable for running a fridge.

FWIW, MY11 is the last model to have that unused circuit in the rear RHS of the vehicle. It isn't there in MY13 which appears to have an updated wiring loom. I haven't checked MY12 but I'm guessing that LR revised the wiring loom with the 2.2L motor in MY12.
