TD5 Oil in Coolant and white smoke

    Hi ,,

My Defender TD5 2005 is getting a white smoke while moving from zero on 2nd gear (Low REV), I did checked many things and replaced what I had to with no improvements .

Today I tried to play with nanocom. to change the injectors type that I was suspecting could cause or solve the problem,I did changed it while im driving on highway going to work, I didn't notice anything wrong or good so i changed it back to what it was, now after 8 hours in the parking I came to drive it back home and I noticed that the coolant water is mixing oil and it leaks out of the coolant reservoir .

Is there any thing that I can relate it to what I did with the type of injectors or its head gasket ?

    Thank You

Sounds like a head gasket to me.
Could also be the oil cooler.
How much oil in the header tank?

Engine oil cooler not transmission oil cooler.

Thank you , It IS the engin oil cooler , and now I will try to find some one to replicate it due to lack of spare parts in the area .

Today I will go to a garage specialize in building custom radiators ,I hope he can do some thing to make it work.

    Regards,

While I don't think its a good idea in either Kuwait or Australia there are companies here that replace the oil cooler radiator with a piece of steel pipe.
My guess is it doesn't cool as well but it may get you out of trouble as its relatively easy to do.

I would but money on head gasket first, but until you strip it down and have a proper look.

    That depends peaty.
If it's just a sort of skim layer in the coolant then yes, that suggests the head gasket has gone.
But, if it's large quantities of oil and coolant mixing then it's more likely to be the oil cooler.
