    110 rear folding step

    Hi guys,

Looking at buying a fold-up rear step and noticed that they won't work with a rear tow bar installed?

    what have others done?

    thanks

Hi. I have a rear step on my 110 which also has a rear tow pack on it (the tow pack is a genuine LR one fitted by the dealer when I bought the Landy)

Not sure who gave you that info but it appears wrong.

I should have mentioned that I have had a rear tow pack and step on two of my 110's.

First was a 2005 TD5 and the latest is 2013 model.

I've had those flip down steps on a few defenders, and I don't like them. I personally find myself standing on the towball more often. Especially as the one on my MY03 defender had the bolts pull through the cross member. They are not particularly strong.

    Hi,

There is two different models for the rear Hayman Reece Hitch. There is one that fits without the step (going on mine next week) and There is a newer model in which the rear step stays on but most places will also try and sell you an ECM to manage the lights on this bar. Thats my experience anyway. THe newer model is about $120 more expensive because of the ECM but you get to keep the step.

Edit: if you're looking for a cheap step.. mine is coming off next wednesday to fit the Hayman Reece. It's off a 2013 Defender.

    Not wrong at all.

Not fitted with Genuine Bar, but you can clearly see the tow bar mount holes and distance.

Both do work together, Station Wagons come ex factory like that if you have ticked the tow pack option box.
There actually is even enough space between the rear step and the tow pack to even add the 12S accessory electrics plug
