I'll have another go at putting pictures of my speaker setup in the 130. The previous posts should do all the relevant explaining. I haven't replaced the headlining yet, and may opt to sand the shell smooth and paint instead. I haven't been able to find a fabric that I'm happy with.
I'll have to put the sixth photo in another post.

Good thread. I have a set of 4" speakers for the front (tweeter/mid) which I reckon just need some baffles behind them to stop the sound all echoing up through the dash. I have a set of smaller oval speakers (5x7 methinks though they arent in front of me currently) which I'll put in the rear of the cab somewhere. Hard to figure out where though without compromising rear seat headroom.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

We have the "factory" subwoofer set up in our new 90. I tried out the stereo for the first time yesterday, only to hear a dreadful rattle/vibration emanating from the subwoofer, so I booked the car in to have it looked at.
However, last night I mentioned this issue on the UK Defender forum, & when I looked at the site today, A UK owner said he'd had exactly the same issue which he'd resolved by discovering that a special "transit" strip of plastic had not been removed from the bottom inside edge of the speaker enclosure. ..Same with me, the plastic was still on mine too, so,....stripped it off, and bingo, no vibration, just a nice strong sub woofer...I'm happy!
Cheers, Pickles.
Does more speakers equal better sound? I am thinking of putting some in a roof console, some in the doors replace the ones in the dash and put some in the rear. Would this sound better with more speakers, or add just more complexity?
Jeff

Or you could go a bit further as we did for this 130 dual cab build.

depends on quality. More poo is just more poo. You need a good source, good cabling, good power and good speakers.
I have some basic Kenwood 4 inch splits with the tweaters on the a pilar. The 4s in the stock location and a sub behind the middle front seat (truck cab). It sounds much better than stock, but that is not hard.
It sounds crap compared to any stock modern car....but thats what happens when you live in a rattly coke can at 100km/h
Got a kicker 8" hidden sub behind the back seats in the puma crew cab, makes it sound great.
Also removed the plastic speaker enclosures from the tub if anyone wants them.
