Hello, So I have the spare battery from my D3 and the isolator thingy SC80 , basically everything that was under the Bonnet, ( I left all the tricky wiring that runs through the firewall and to the sockets )
Now I need to get a shopping list together for Drivesafe
What do I need?
Where is the best spot to run the cables to the 12 volt sockets
New car BTW

I was just off the phone with him .....It's not the harness that's the problem it's the way 2 run the cable,
Do you go under the car or behind the plastics Allah the Discovery ... I am clueless as to what to do .....
I need some Diagrams
Congrats on the acquisition....nice!
So where are you putting the battery and where and how many 12v outlets are you installing?

Ex 300Tdi Disco:
Run the cables through the large grommet in the battery box, underneath the car, along the near side chassis rail to about equal with "C" pillar.
Bore a hole under the rear seat, there is a nice flat section near the bottom of the "C" pillar. From there run the cable up the pillar, then you will need to remove the trim around the rear sliding windows. Mount the 12v plugs in the window surround trim, hide the cable in there as well. Re fit and your done
Who needs a diagrame
Ok cheers mate
I am want to put 3 12 volt outlets just to be sure , I only ever use my fridge and Travel buddy oven but a spare for some LED night lights or other appliances would be good ,
I am a neat freak though so the tidier the better.
Loving the Defender thus far .....It's the first manual,I have driven so I am finding it tuff going
This is what I did:

There are many ways to skin the cat though.
Good luck with the manual change learning curve...it's worth it.

Two things HB, if you go to my build thread, there's a couple of pics there which may help for the battery install. I used Traxides 160 unit, and so far,, very happy with it. And when it comes to electrics,, I'm a nuff nuff
The other thing, as your in Melb,, oh look at that, just like me, depending on where you are, you can have a look at mine in the flesh. This could also be achieved at the 65th Anniversary on the 29th(?) event at Scorsby too

I took my outlet cable under the floor pan as suggested and came up behind the rear passengers seat, but mines a ute, so you'll probably want to do it differently.
Thank you all for your help I kinda got it now . I am writing a email to Tim as we speak , as you say there are many ways to skin a cat,
I think easy access is the key and also tidiness
don't forget with a defender simplicity is king!!
are you enjoying driving it yet?
